Button Rhythm questions

In yew's words: "Button rhythm is turning your regular button shot into a rhythm shot. When you press Square, your controller's right stick gets pulled down (on the software output level, not in real life) and this starts a rhythm shot — then when you release the button, it smoothly flicks the stick up to give it rhythm."

You still press and release the button yourself. The script only changes what the console sees from the right stick during that press. The result is a bigger green window, a smaller shot-contest penalty and more consistent releases — not automatic timing.

No. Button Rhythm does not time the shot. You press and release Square yourself, and the release point is still your job.

What it does is make the green window bigger, reduce the shot-contest penalty and improve consistency, because 2K27 grades stick tempo and the script gives your button press a smooth stick sweep.

If you want the script to time the shot, that is Auto-Green (R3 click) or one of the shot pack pages.

The Button Rhythm value runs from 8 to 80 ms. The default sits at 35; yew runs 23. The number is how long the upward flick of the right stick lasts after you release Square.

Technically it is the centre step of a six-point ease-in-out sweep. 2K27 grades stick tempo, and a sweep that snaps too fast shrinks the green window, so the value controls how smooth that sweep is.

Change it on the Button Rhythm page by holding Cross/A and tapping D-pad Up/Down. Without Cross held, Up/Down only toggles the mod On or Off.

There is no formula for the Button Rhythm value. Start at yew's published 23 or the default 35, then shoot fades and stand-stills in online MyCourt at each value and keep the one that feels best.

Do the test online, not in offline MyCourt, because the timing differs. Change the value in small steps on the Button Rhythm page (hold Cross/A, tap Up/Down) and give each setting a few shots before moving on.

Yes, and you do not set these yourself. The script applies context multipliers to the sweep depending on the shot: turbo fades sweep about 18% slower; insta-stop and quick-stop shots about 10% faster; shots on the move about 8% faster.

Shots taken within 400 ms of leaving the move stick — a step-back or hop gather, for example — also sweep slightly faster. Your Button Rhythm value stays the base; the multipliers adjust from it.

SQ Remap is Button Rhythm's raw-shot escape hatch. Pick L3, R3, L1 or R1 (default L3). Hold that button while pressing Square and you get a plain Square shot with no rhythm sweep.

With Button Rhythm Off, the SQ Remap page shows Off and does nothing.

One side effect: if you set the remap to R3, the Auto-Green click moves to L3. With any other remap, Auto-Green stays on R3.

Yes. Hold the SQ Remap button — L3 by default — while you press Square. That shot goes out as a plain button shot with no stick sweep. Release the remap button and the next Square press is a rhythm shot again.

If you want every shot plain, switch Button Rhythm Off on its page. The SQ Remap page then shows Off because there is nothing to bypass.
